Vedic Sanskrit words related to Mother or Maa

Vedic Sanskrit words on 'Mother'

The words in italics are the Sanskrit words. They are written as per ‘itrans version’. (Refer Sanskrit English Lexicon by Sir Monier Wiliams at  http://www.sanskrit-lexicon.uni-koeln.de/monier/

  1.  amaa---a (no / without) + maa (measure)---The Universal Consciousness who is without measure.

  2.  maa---mother---who creates by providing measures.

  3.   ma—death---ma is the 25th member of the 5 by 5 matrix of Sanskrit consonants called sparsha varNa (the alphabets of touch). The god of alphabet of ‘touch’ is the god of death. (sarve sparsha mritoH aatmanaH----all alphabets of ‘touch’ are the parts of the god of death—Chandogya Upanishad, 2nd Chapter, 3rd part.). This is because touch can happen only when there is duality and ‘death’ is the result of ‘perceiving duality’ and not knowing the ‘absolute oneness’. Otherwise death is no death.

ma’ is the highest or final note of the Sanskrit consonants.

The alphabets are the radiations of the Consciousness or

Consciousness in Her/ His elemental forms. Alphabets join to

create an expression or to create the universe.

ma’ denotes the final realization. This why mUrti means

‘embodiment’, a thing physicalized or frozen to a definition.

Similarly, ‘ma’ also means ‘mRityu’ or death, i.e. a thing
realized in ‘negativity’. The word ‘martya’ means ‘mortal’ or
where the presence of ‘animation’ is less or can’t be felt.

martya is the physicality of Consciousness as ‘mortal’.

 4.  maa—mother---m (mRityu or death) + aa (shape/ measure) ---who can create a ‘measure’ or ‘definition’ from death or nothingness. When we (sperm) live in father's body, we exist without shape or definition. We get into definition and appearance in mother's womb.

  5.  maa—mother-- m (mRityu) + aa (appearance/shape/ measure) ---who can give 'death' a shape or who can ‘realize’ death or ‘make death happen’. It is for this reason in Sanskrit the word ‘maa’ is also used as the word ‘no’.

  6.  maatraa—degree, order, measure---maa (measure/ mother)+traa (to rescue or protect)---the measure of the action by which ‘maa’ (mother Consciousness) defines a creature or creates a dimension. The word ‘matter’ is from the word ‘maatraa’, as everything is a ‘measure’ of the Universal Consciousness.

  7.   ambaa—(mother goddess)—am + baa. am =teja / tejas or the energy created as Universal Consciousness becomes active or about to be in motion; ba is a consonant of labial class and va is the corresponding semi vowel. va denotes vaak---- the aspect of power of Universal Consciousness by which everyone is named or expressed. vaak is the mother of all words or creator of every expression.  baa’ represents the labial ‘vaa’. Labial means the ‘words which comes out of the lips'. Thus, ambaa is the Mother Consciousness creating everyone from Her words, through Her lips, by Her kiss (touch / sparsha). The alphabet ba ( ब ) in Sanskrit is depicted with a segment or a line, which divides or fractionates va व ). The Universal Consciousness splits into many and this is the transition from va to ba.
